As per the directions of JKSLSA and under the guidance of chairman DLSA
Anantnag, District Legal Services Authority Anantnag organized a program in
collaboration with Government Degree College for Women Anantnag at
auditorium of Government Degree College for Women Anantnag on topic “Women
Empowerment” on 23th of February ,2023. The program was attended by, Secretary
District Legal Services. Authority Anantnag Deputy Chief LADC and Assistant LADC Anantnag, staff
members and Para Legal Volunteers’ of DLSA Anantnag and also officers of Saki
One Stop Centre Anantnag, District Hub for Empowerment of Women Anantnag
and nominated persons in Special Cell of Women and students of the college.
On the said occasion Secretary District Legal Services Authority Anantnag
delivered a special address to the participants and gave insights pertaining to the
Empowerment of the Women. The first empowerment begins with considering to be
worthy at par with men, giving them power to make their decisions and removing
all forms of restrictions and constraints which hamper their decision making
power. In order to make women self-dependent, there is need to promote Social
empowerment, Economic empowerment, Educational empowerment is crucial and
germane to all other forms of empowerment, besides, skill development among
women in non-traditional works like electricians, plumbers etc. Women can be
organized into different professional groups so that there is improvement in their
bargaining power.
